WHOLE HEALTH ACTION MANAGEMENT (WHAM)
About the Course
Whole Health Action Management (WHAM) is a training program and peer support group model developed by Center for Integrated Health Services to encourage increased resiliency, wellness, and self-management of health and behavioral health among people with mental health and/or substance use challenges. The skills learned in WHAM help participants engage in self-management to achieve better whole health and wellness.
The training and guide book were informed and driven by individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. It was founded in principles from existing research and programs in chronic disease management such as the Health and Recovery Peer Program and the Relaxation Response.
